Lycoming County Thirty percent of Lycoming County’s economy is based on the manufacturing sector. Companies like Northrop Grumman, Kellogg’s, Frito-Lay, West Company, Litton Electronic Devices, Shop-Vac Corporation, and Textron-Lycoming employ highly-skilled workers. Other successful sectors included in the County’s strong economy are retail trade, services, agriculture, transportation, and wholesale trade. The Pennsylvania College of Technology, a component of the State University system, is located in Williamsport and is renowned throughout the Northeast for its two-year and four-year programs in various technical occupations including applied plastics and polymers.
